About two years ago, I was browsing Pinterest and I happened to see someone post about doing a Christmas Eve box. Ever since, I saw that Pin, I knew it would be the perfect way for my family and I to kick off gift giving. Now my family and I have made the Christmas Eve box one of our family traditions that we look forward to each year.
What is the Christmas Eve Box?
The Christmas Eve Box consists of a new pair of Christmas pajamas for everyone, a new Christmas storybook, a new Christmas DVD, popcorn, and hot chocolate. I wrap up everything ahead of time and then before bath time I allow the boys to open the present together. We then take showers and put on our new jammies, drink hot chocolate and eat popcorn, and finish the night off with the Christmas story before going to bed to wait on Santa. My boys really love this tradition and it is much better than allowing them each to open up a gift on Christmas Eve. Instead, everyone still gets a surprise and we get to spend time together as a family too.
This Year We Are Doing Something New Too!
This year, to get my boys even more excited about the holiday season we will be going to one of the in-store Walmart Toyland events, which are happening in December. To see if your Walmart is participating click here.
