As the end of summer break nears, I have been looking for ways to keep my kids in the spirit of summer despite all of the preparations we are making for back to school. One of the ways I want to extend our summer fun is by celebrating some fun ‘holidays’ in the month of August!
August 1– Girlfriends Day and National Raspberry Cream Pie Day
August 2– National Ice Cream Sandwich Day and National Dinosaur Day
August 9 – National Polka Dot Day and National Hand Holding Day
August 14– National Kool Aid Day and Color Book Day
August 17– Cupcake Day and National Thrift Shop Day
August 20– National Lemonade Day and World Mosquito Day
August 24– National Waffle Day and International Strange Music Day
August 29– National Neighborhood Day
August 31– National Eat Outside Day and National Trail Mix Day
Which of these fun off beat holidays do you think you are most likely to celebrate? My kids are voting for National Ice Cream Sandwich Day, National Kool Aid Day and of course Cupcake Day!
Do you have any ideas for how to keep the spirit of summer around as back to school preparations begin?
