Christmas can be hard on budgets. However, just because you purchased gifts it doesn’t mean that you have to start off the new year in debt. Therefore, today I am sharing with you some ways that you can make back your holiday cash.
Sell Old Items for Cash
You may have received some new items over the holidays, so now is the perfect time to get rid of all of your old and unused items. One of my favorite ways to sell things that I don’t need is thru and app called, “OfferUp”. When selling items just make sure that, you meet the buyers in a public well-lit place and make sure that they are aware that the items are being sold “as is”.
Additionally, whatever you don’t sell by the last day of the year, donate it to a qualified charity so you can take some money off of your taxes.
I have been freelancing full time since 2011 and I must say that the pros outweigh the cons. While obviously I wouldn’t suggest quitting your full-time job to freelance with no prior experience, it can bring you in some extra cash outside of your paycheck quickly. There are numerous ways to sell your skills such as through Fiverr, Upwork, or even Reddit.
However, when getting started freelancing online it is important that you at least get a deposit up front for your services so you can avoid being scammed.
Do you have many social media followers or do you have a ton of connections. If so, affiliate marketing could be a quick way for you to make some money. Basically, when you hear someone saying that they need something you could direct them to the product via your referral link and get a commission off their sales.
I have made some of my largest affiliate sales from family and friends because they ask me about a product and I recommend a brand I trust. I email them my affiliate link and they are more than happy to order through it because they are not only getting something that they need, but they are supporting my business at the same time.
Some of my favorite networks currently are ShareaSale and Escalate Network.

Before I ran across Sass n Frass, I would have thought making money via direct selling wouldn’t be quick. However, some companies out there pay you the very same day that you make a sale and Sass n Frass happens to be one of them. Usually, you will have to pay a small fee to get started, but when you are making money back the same day as you sell something, you are losing anything.
However, before signing up for a direct sales company, make sure you read the fine print. Avoid companies that request high startup fees, have minimum amounts you must sell each month and try to dictate how you advertise and run your business.
My company, Sass n Frass, does none of that, so if you want to get started with them let me know, I would love to have you on my team.
Surveys are great to do in your spare time and they will make you a few bucks here and there. However, this method of making your holiday cash back should be done in collaboration with another method to get the best results. Some of my favorite survey companies currently include MySurvey and Swagbucks.
