Typically, I review every product that comes in my mailbox personally. This time around, I thought it would be fun to get some help and outside perspectives on a few products from family members. I was happy that they enjoyed trying the products and gave me some great feedback.
Thin Executive Pen from Kyocera Advanced Ceramics
My mom and I are a lot alike, we write lists and notes to ourselves rather than typing out reminders on the computer. I let her try this pen since she is always having trouble with pens smudging and being uncomfortable to write with. She was happy with the Thin Executive Pen as it wrote smoothly and dried fast. She didn’t experience any smudging or broken letters.
CDN Long Stem Fry Thermometer
My mom does a lot of cooking where thermometers are needed. Hers recently broke, so this was the ideal opportunity to have her really try it out. The CDN Long Stem Fry Thermometer is accurate, lightweight and easy to read. A couple of things that my mom really enjoyed about the thermometer is that she can use it inside the house or outside when frying for gatherings. It is also waterproof.
The clip along the main shaft can slide up or down so that you can secure it onto a pan no matter what its depth is.
Zoku Ice Ball Molds
We do a lot of entertaining in my family. My cousin had a gathering coming up, so I thought it would be great for her to try the Ice Ball Molds for the occasion. She doesn’t like the fact that regular ice cubes melt really fast, leaving you with watered down beverages. For regular or standard sized glasses, these are a little bit too big. These work better when you are making pitchers of drinks to serve, like iced tea, sangrias, and lemonade.
Kuhn Rikon Box Mandoline & Grater
The Box Mandoline & Grater works great with vegetables but really fails on soft items like cheese. My mom also tried this product out and found that it was rather convenient for making vegetable trays and prepping veggies fast for dinnertime use.
The mandolin and grater are lightweight and comes with 3 slicing lids and a guard. The guard is a must no matter how comfortable you are using a mandolin. It has a handle for pouring, but also comes in handy when slicing as an anchor point for added safety.
Ceramic Coated Fry Pan Set Kyocera Advanced Cermamics
I had a lot of fun cooking steaks, omelets, and eggs in this ceramic coated fry pan set. I’ve used these pans quite a few times and my food always cooks evenly in them. These pans have to be hand-washed to preserve the protective ceramic coating. That is the only downside for me, I prefer to use my dishwasher for everything. I didn’t have any issues with food sticking, though, which is always an added benefit in my book.
Kitchen gadgets and convenience products are fun to try out. I am all for gadgets that make my time in the kitchen faster and easier. As a busy mom, making time each day to cook a meal from scratch can seem overwhelming, but most of these gadgets cut prep time and help you cook perfect food every time.
Which one of these gadgets caught your interest the most?
