Have you checked out the new NBC series, “Timeless” yet starring Abigail Spencer? I have and today I had the opportunity to do an interview with Abigail Spencer to get behind the scenes. However, before we jump into that, I am going to provide some background about Timeless and Abigail Spencer’s role on the show for those who are just hearing about it.
Intro too Timeless
Timeless is a thrilling action adventure series where a mysterious criminal steals a secret time machine with plans to go back in the past and destroy America by making alterations. The state of the world depends on a scientist, a soldier, and a history professor. While also jumping back in time, the trio has to make sure not to affect themselves or it could affect the present as they know it. They have to make sure they are always one step ahead of the dangerous fugitive. Will they be able to stop him before it is too late?
Abigail Spencer, mother of an 8-year-old son, is the actress that plays the heroine, Lucy. There appears to be a potential relationship between Lucy and Matt. When she goes back in time, Lucy’s future is altered that impacts her mother and sister with aN ICYMI moment at the end of the episode.
Interview with Abigail Spencer
Below is a snippet of some behind the scenes thoughts from “Lucy”.
Q: Do you have any special routine you do to get into character?
A: I’m so fortunate because the costumes are authentic and the artist is a mom too so she is easily relatable too. The history behind the costumes help me to get into character because my mom used to make all of my clothes and I am fascinated with the history of clothes. I also use playlists and get excited when having hair and makeup done because it’s like OMG I’m playing a spy. Basically, my routine changes depending on the day.
Q: What made you accept the role of Lucy?
A: Initially, I was opposed to the idea when I first read over the script. You could say I actually had a “Lucy” reaction because I thought time travel is crazy no, but at the same time, it was a quality needed to be a good “Lucy” character. I wasn’t sure in general if I wanted to do another tv show because it’s a huge commitment, but five other actresses told me that I had to play the part. When it boils down to it, Lucy is a great role model for children and a great paper doll series.
