Purchase Discounted Gift Cards
By purchasing discounted gift cards, you will be able to get more bang for your buck. You can either gift your recipient’s gift cards directly or you can purchase the gift card and then go to the retailer and purchase them a gift that way.
Look for Coupon Codes on Popular Sites
The main way that I save money when shopping for Christmas gifts is by checking sites such as Retail Me Not and DealSpotr for the latest coupon codes. On average, by doing this I can save between $40-$100 on my holiday shopping. This amount is great in my opinion because with three kids and relatives to shop for Christmas shopping can get pricey.
Subscribe to Your Favorite Stores Newsletters
Subscribing to your favorite store’s newsletters can be beneficial, especially during the holiday season. Often they send out subscriber-only discount codes and deals that are better than anything that you would run across anywhere else. During Cyber Monday, last year, I came across some decent deals that allowed me to score some sweet Christmas gifts.
Shop Via Cashback Websites
By shopping through cashback sites such as EBates and Swagbucks you can get cash back from your purchases just by shopping through their links. While it may take 30 days or so for the cashback to show up in your account it can be a nice surprise to start the year off while you prepare for the tax season.
Purchase in Bulk When Possible
When purchasing Christmas gifts for teachers or putting together care packages for relatives in college or deployed, considering purchasing items in bulk. Dollar Tree is an excellent choice for making holiday care packages for Christmas presents because they have a wide variety of options available and many don’t require you to purchase more than four to eight units for it to be considered a bulk order.
Shop Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals
During Black Friday and Cyber Monday, you can also find some decent deals. However, from my experience, the best deals are released at midnight the day of. Additionally, when shopping on these days make sure that you have a game plan (use those subscription emails) so you can have an idea of which retailers are going to have the best deals so you can get your cart filled before they sell out. (For safety purposes I would also suggest shopping online on these days).

Saving money on Christmas gifts is very easy. You may have to get a little creative, but you can stretch your budget with these methods to ensure that everyone on your list gets the perfect gift.
