When we think of the Holiday period, we tend to think about the indulgences we’re about to have. Not only do we get to eat a delicious Christmas dinner, but there’s always an incredible amount of sweet treats to devour too.
But, this festive season, why not think about the other kinds of indulgences you can have instead. If you’re always worried about eating too much at Christmas and putting on too much weight, then this will sound like music to your ears. Because Holiday season indulgence doesn’t have to be about food – it can focus on many more of life’s little luxuries instead.
Time With Your Family
Christmas is about togetherness, reflecting on the good times and being grateful for all that you have in life. One of life’s biggest blessings is family. So, this year, why not overindulge on time with your loved ones? If you ever feel guilty about taking time off work, now’s the chance to completely ignore the concept. Book days out or stay in bundled up around the fire. Whatever you choose to do, enjoy it all!
Sometimes, we’re more concerned with others than ourselves. We put our children first and focus on our husband’s needs over ours. Which, makes you a kind, thoughtful, and loving person. But, during the festive season, there’s no reason why you can’t focus on yourself for a change. When we look good, we feel good. So indulge in your favorite beauty products, from Ben Nye cosmetics to Anastasia Beverley Hills, and get all dolled up, just because you can.
Taking A Step Back
99% of the year, you might be the sole provider when it comes to things like cooking, cleaning, taking care of the kids, and doing laundry. But, at Christmas, you can totally step back without feeling an ounce of guilt. Because you deserve a break too! So, if your best friend asks to babysit, your in-laws insist on doing the washing up, or your husband wants to cook for you, let them.
If you’re an avid bookworm and a Mom, then you’ll know that it’s not always easy to be both. You try to read as often as you can, but sometimes your Mom duties take over, and you’re too tired to read when you get into bed at the end of the day. Well, this Holiday season, it’s time to indulge in book after book. With family, friends, and your husband around more, your children have someone to occupy them. So, take advantage of that little bit of extra free time you have and read as much as you can. It’s not like you do it every day, so relax with a Christmassy book and enjoy it guilt-free.
Forgetting The Rules This Christmas
And finally, let the rulebook go out of the window. You don’t have to stick strictly to bedtimes at Christmas, not if you all want to cuddle up on the sofa and watch movies instead. You don’t have to do your chores at set times on set days; they can wait – now is your time to relax too. And who says you can’t eat dessert first? It is Christmas after all!
How do you plan to indulge this Christmas?
