Since the boys are getting older, it is finally time for me to reclaim some of my freedom and to do that I am doing more traveling this year. I am starting out in the states, but I also plan to visit a few other countries down the line.
So, to make sure I am covered when traveling both short and long distances from home, I have been doing some research on items that can make traveling smoother, both with and without kids. Therefore, today I thought I would share some of the unique yet beneficial items that I have come across in case some of you other travelers needed some essentials to add to your collection.
Footie Travel Blanket
Are you someone who likes to go camping out in your hammock or maybe you’re like me and you like to sleep as the passenger when going to a new location? Either way, the Footie Travel Blanket by Grand Trunk is just what you need.Check out how @GrandTrunkGoods can be beneficial to travelers on @Giveaways4Mom. Click To Tweet
It has a cozy foot pocket so I can kick off my shoes and just relax for the majority of the ride while I catch up on sleep. I am tall too (5’11) and it is able to fit my entire body inside of it when in an upright position.
Before hitting the road, this is one thing that I make sure I don’t forget to put inside of my purse.
If you are someone who likes to take photos when you are traveling or maybe even a travel blogger, in general, a decent travel sized lighting kit can really come in handy. I recently invested in the ESDDI Background Support System with Lamps and Umbrellas Lighting Kit and it is one of the best investments I have made for my business to date.
It comes with bags to make packing it up for a trip easy and it is also easy to get everything set up. Therefore, if you must work on the road, you never must worry about sacrificing the quality of your photos.
Rechargeable Battery Case
When out exploring your destination, one of the last things you want to happen is for your phone battery to die. This would not only put a damper on taking photos of special moments but if an emergency was to occur, what would you do? In addition to always traveling with my portable battery charger, I also make sure that I keep a rechargeable battery case that is fully charged on my iPhone 7 as well.
Self Defense Items
When traveling alone as a female, it is important to make sure that you have some type of self-defense items with you, especially if you plan to be out and about at night. I personally keep some mace on my keychain at all time in addition to a self-defense ring. It is always better to be prepared for the worst and not encounter it than to not be prepared and need it, in my opinion.
Hanging Toiletry Bag
I always have my hanging toiletry bag stocked up even when I am home, to ensure that when I pack for my trips that I won’t forget any of my essentials. Additionally, once at your destination, you can hang it up so you don’t have to worry about leaving anything behind since the items can go back in the bag immediately after they are used.
Closing Thoughts on Unique Items for Travelers
While these are just a few of my traveling essentials I think that these are the main ones.
