Amazon is one of the best online marketplaces to get practically anything. But even though you’re not paying much, to begin with, there are still ways to save hundreds on the platform on an annual basis.
Here are some great tips for saving hundreds of dollars on Amazon every year.
Sign Up for Amazon Prime after the 30-Day Trial
To start with, you should sign up for Amazon Prime. It gives you a range of benefits. Just look at the fact you can get free two delivery on a huge number of items just by agreeing to sign up for the trial.
But stick with Prime because you can get access to the Kindle Lending Library and the ability to freely stream videos and music from Amazon’s immense library. And if an order is ever not delivered on-time you can get another free month of Prime from customer service.
I have been a Prime member for a couple of years now and I will tell you that it is one of the best investments that I make once a year especially when it comes to having to purchase last minute gifts.
Use Amazon Coupons
Amazon also has its own set of coupons. Visit daily deals websites to find the latest coupons. You can also pick them up by subscribing to Amazon’s newsletter. Occasionally they’ll send coupons. Add these in at check-out and you may get up to 50% off your order.
Take Advantage of Amazon Households
Stretch the value of Amazon Prime by signing up to Amazon Households. This gives the rest of your household access to Amazon Prime. You can create family libraries and share content across multiple devices and to multiple family members. It’s much cheaper than buying individual Prime subscriptions.
Shop in the Amazon Prime Pantry
Amazon Pantry is a benefit exclusive to Prime members. Shopping for food items and household items online is costly unless you buy in bulk. Amazon Pantry lets you purchase ordinary packet sizes at prices comparable to those you’d find in your local grocery store.
The best part is you can fill up one box to the rim and the shipping is always going to be $5.99. Sometimes they even run certain promotions such as purchase five qualifying items and get free shipping.
Use Amazon Lightning Deals
Amazon Lightning Deals are huge discounts on random items in the Amazon store. These are usually valid for less than 24 hours and there are only a certain number of people who can claim these deals. If you’re a regular shopper you can easily catch these deals before they expire.
Sign Up to Amazon Student or Amazon Family
Students and families have the opportunity to join a special club aimed at them. Students who shop online can get an Amazon Prime trial, free two-day shipping, exclusive discounts, and they can load up as many photos as they like. You also get most of the other perks of Prime, such as unlimited TV show streaming from the Amazon library.
Amazon Family is roughly the same deal, but the exclusive promotions are aimed at family-orientated products. For example, you can get 20% off regular diaper subscriptions.
Trade in Items on Amazon Trade-In and Get the Store Card
Trade in some of your old items, including electronics, books, DVDs, and CDs on Amazon Trade-In and get a gift card for the value. You could then sign up to the Amazon Store Card. Paying it off in full every month and getting the cash back means that, together with gift cards, you can make huge savings.
You may never use your debit card again!
Check Out Amazon Outlet and Amazon Warehouse
Amazon Warehouse is the section of the store where slightly damaged items are sold at huge discounts. Don’t worry, these items aren’t broken, but the packaging may have damage, so they don’t meet the standards of ‘new’. You can find some steals here.
Amazon Outlet, on the other hand, is part of the store with deals on electronics, jewelry, and more that runs throughout the year. See this as the bargain basement of Amazon with great products.
Subscribe and Save
Amazon Subscribe and Save allows you to subscribe directly to certain products. This means you never have to worry about running out of household staples again and by subscribing for reoccurring delivery you can save up to 15% off of the products.
Last Word – Big Savings on Amazon
Combine all these tips together and you can make incredible savings every year. The more you shop the more value you’ll get out of things like your store card and Amazon Prime.
