On Saturday, I had the opportunity to go to Muse Paintbar for a paint and sip date night! I must tell you that it is so much fun.
It was easy to find the location and I can’t believe I never knew that it was in Towne Center since I go there for comedy shows at The Funny Bone. Parking was less than a five-minute walk from the paint party and as soon as you walk through the doors you are right at home.
About to try something new. #painting at @muse_paintbar #757 #virginiabeach #musepaintbar #datenight #virginiablogger

#1 Great Atmosphere
Upon walking through the door, you are greeting by a staff member who tells you where to find your seat, hang your jackets, and where to find the aprons. I arrived a bit early so I could look at some of the awesome paintings that they had hanging around and make my way to the bar to get our bottle of wine.

Once it’s time for class to start your instructor (ours way Jo who is really cool by the way) will go over what to expect during class, makes sure you know where everything is and does introductions to the staff. Oh, and throughout the entire class, there is fun music playing, which helps make the time fly by.
#2 Painting is Relaxing
Painting is so relaxing. At home, I like to color in adult coloring books, but painting takes relaxing to an entirely different level.
At first, I was so nervous because I have never painted anything in my life except for my nails and all the artwork looked like professional painters had done it, so I was sure my painting wouldn’t turn out anywhere close to that.
However, Jo did things in an easy to follow format and over time I could see my painting coming together perfectly.
Just a start. However, I must admit that this is very #relaxing. #painting #paintingwithatwist #musepaintbar #datenight #757 #757blogger #virginiablogger #virginiabeach

The best part is even though we were there for about 3 hours, it felt like we were only there for 45 minutes to an hour. Time really flies by when painting!
#3 It’s Budget Friendly
As a mom of three I don’t get to go out on date nights as much as I could without kids because let’s face it, Virginia is expensive and kids are expensive, so spending a ton of unnecessary money is not happening with three mouths to feed. Well, the good news is, date night doesn’t have to be expensive. We were able to get some food, a bottle of wine, a beer, and leave a 15% tip for less than $50.
#4 You Learn a New Skill
As I mentioned earlier, the only thing I have painted in my life are my nails. However, with Jo’s great instructions I was able to paint a canvas that if I must say so myself doesn’t look too bad at all. If everything was as fun, simple, and relaxing, as painting at Muse Paintbar was, I am sure I would be a millionaire by now lol.

#5 It’s Fun
I wasn’t sure what to expect at first, but Muse Paintbar was a fun night and the time just passed by. The staff was nice, the environment was fun and friendly, and of course Jo kept us on track and having fun all the night. Overall, this is one of the most fun date nights that I have been on in a while.
Final Thoughts on Muse Paintbar
Overall, this was my first visit to Muse Paintbar, but it won’t be my last. While Virginia Beach is an hour away from me, taking the ride is well worth it. Painting relaxes you and you get to do it while drinking wine – that’s what I call a win!
