Spring is here which means it’s time to start “spring cleaning”. Well with me, I like to update and refresh the look of my home while spring cleaning. I find the bathroom to be one of the easiest places to spring clean and update so always start off with it. Therefore, today I decided to share my tips with you for reinventing your bathroom this spring without breaking the bank.
Spruce Up Your Mirror
A mirror is a natural focal point, and essential for making sure you look good before you leave the house. It’s one of those bathroom items you absolutely must have.
Unfortunately, elegant mirrors are most often known for being expensive. However, with companies such as Frame My Mirror, they don’t have to be.
You can use your existing mirror and add the mirror frame directly to your wall. And the best part is for a limited time, you can get 10% off your purchase at Frame My Mirror by entering the exclusive promo code G4M2017.
Not only are they stylish but you can get $1 samples to try things out and all orders come with free shipping. And we all know how some retailers like to sell cheap then kill you with the shipping – that’s not the case here.
Replace the Sink (or just update it)
On the lowest budget, you can imagine? Then you might not be able to throw out your old sink. You need to consider accessories.
For less than $50 you could purchase a new toothbrush holder, soap dish, and even an automated toothpaste dispenser.
Additionally, even a sink doesn’t have to cost a lot of money. One of the best-selling sinks on Amazon is the Comllen white porcelain sink. It goes above the counter and costs no more than $55. The best part is it is so easy to install that you could do it yourself if DIY projects are your thing.
Spruce Up Your Bathroom with New Décor
The right picture really can make the room. Okay, you’re not going to hang a piece of fine art in your bathroom, but a landscape on a canvas can add some much-needed color. It’s so easy to finish up a bathroom and find that everything is either white or silver. Sometimes this can make your bathroom look too cold and contemporary.
And quite frankly you need the inspiration. Most of my blog post ideas come up when I’m in the shower.
A landscape with some bright and bold colors can add that pop that’s going to make your bathroom stand out. Whether you pick up a cheap $10 landscape from Walmart or go to a paint night and create your very own canvas, this can make such a difference.
Don’t Forget Your Tub and Shower
While replacing your tub and shower may not be affordable right now it doesn’t mean you can’t change things up for the spring season. Change up some of the accessories. I found this great shower curtain that has mesh pockets, which makes holding all my shower items so much more convenient.
Another little addition that can make all the difference is the bath mat. An anti-bacterial and anti-slip bath mat will keep your bathroom clean and stop any unfortunate accidents at the same time. Plus the added splash of color can reinvent an otherwise neglected space.
Finally, organization is one of the main things that most of us are looking to accomplish when it comes to spring cleaning. There’s nothing worse than being in the middle of a shower and finding that you can’t find your favorite moisturizer. Try out an adjustable shower caddy to keep everything in order.
Show Your Bathroom Floor Some Love Too
It’s easy to forget about the floor. But it’s a part of the bathroom that matters also. Start off with a brand-new bathroom rug set. Try to avoid a white rug because the dirt will show up on them quickly.
Now nobody likes to talk about their weight, but we all must admit that we like to know. Put some tech in your bathroom with a Bluetooth-enabled bathroom scale. The Yunmai Smart Scale connects to Bluetooth and measures everything from your weight to your body composition.
Go a Little Crazy with Extras
Air fresheners, candles, and other gadgets to set the mood for a relaxing evening in the tub contain a concoction of chemicals that can be irritating, or even carcinogenic. Who wants things like Dialkyl Sodium Sulfosuccinate in their bathroom, right?
If you’re like me, you love smells. I always must have a candle burning and let me not even talk about my collection of air fresheners and other home sprays.
Currently, my favorite smell good products come from Fresh Waves. Their odor removing spray and odor removing gel is so awesome. It is great for getting rid of any type of smell and since bathrooms are small these products are the perfect match.
Remember that smell is one of the five senses, so even a beautiful bathroom can be ruined by the smell. You can easily find these items at your local Target or Walgreens (including the Fresh Waves products that I am using currently), so you can get them on your next shopping trip.
