There’s nothing like a bouquet of flowers for that special someone. Show your mom that you care by getting the perfect set of flowers for her this Mother’s Day. To begin with, you need to be able to understand what her preferences are. This guide is going to help you with a few of the most important points you have to take into account.
What’s Her Favorite Color?
Let’s start with the first thing that people are likely to notice. The perfect flowers for mom are those that come in her favorite color. Luckily, there’s a flower for every color. For example, if you were purchasing from flower Sydney you would have access to a ton of bright and radiant colored flowers.
If you don’t know her favorite color – and shame on you if you don’t – then just ask. Don’t try to guess.
Does She Have Green Fingers?
The reality is your mother may love flowers but may not be interested in taking care of them. Not everyone enjoys getting their hands dirty. If your bouquet of flowers takes lots of looking after you might want to consider a different type of flower instead.
Think about how much spare time your mother has and whether she just wants something to take care of or whether she just wants to look at something pretty.
In my case, my mom loves both options. She likes the pretty flowers that require little maintenance, but she also loves to plant her flowers outside in the front of her yard. I don’t know how she does it – I suck at keeping flowers alive!
Is Mom Allergic?
Some flowers trigger allergies. The last thing you want is to accidentally trigger her allergies. It may ruin the surprise, but if you are unsure if your mom is allergic to something it is better to ask before you go out and purchase it. There’s no way to ruin Mother’s Day quicker than to have her have an allergic reaction to your gift.
Do they Suit the Occasion?
What are you trying to show your mom?
If you’re trying to show her that you love her then red roses are the order of the day. Likewise, if she’s been ill and you’re telling her to get well soon you might pick up a white flower, which symbolizes health.
What if You Can’t Decide on a Flower?
This happens to the best of us. We pick out a few options and yet we can’t determine which flower works best. The only option is to buy more than one type of flower. Remember, a bouquet of flowers is about so much more than the flower itself. It’s all about the presentation.
For example, you might send your mother some sunflowers with a recyclable mason jar. You also might pair her favorite flowers with some seeds, so she can replace her own flowers when they die.
As you can see, there are so many options on the table and you want to make sure you get this right.
Last Word – All You Have to Do is Ask
Sometimes all you have to do is ask your mother for some guidance. There’s little point in playing a guessing game. A simple question will give you the direction you need. Just make sure you creatively bring up the topic so she doesn’t know what you are up too.
What do you think is the best flower for your mom?
