A couple of months back I told you that I was going to be making more time for myself this year. One of those things that were on my list was kickboxing and guess what? I finally took the plunge and took advantage of the web offer and enrolled my butt into classes. The best part is, as their name hints, I love kickboxing now. I’m so excited because I only have two things from my list now that I need to get started with.
Today I wanted to share my experience so far, so if any of you were considering signing up while they still have promo offers going on you know what to expect.

The I Love Kickboxing Web Offer
Currently, it looks like they have the special running where you get 3 classes and kickboxing gloves for $19.99 or you can do 5 classes and free gloves for $29.99. I went with the five class one so I could really give it a chance to make sure it was something that I could maintain doing.
I’ll be honest and go ahead and reveal that after entering my email I didn’t sign up immediately. I let the email sit for about 2-3 weeks and received a couple of reminders to sign up in-between before I just took the plunge and said I’ll make time. It has been one of the best decisions/investments that I’ve made this year.
Scheduling the First Class
Once you pay for the promo offer you get a call the same day from I Love Kickboxing. They are energetic and friendly on the phone and work with you to make sure it’s a time that fits into your schedule. The best part is they are open 7 days a week and have morning, afternoon, and night classes that should work out for everyone.
I scheduled my first class for a few days away but ended up having to reschedule (which was super easy to do) because I totally forgot about the half days of school at the end of the school year.
The First Kickboxing Class
When you schedule out your first kickboxing class you must arrive 30 minutes before it starts so you can go over everything, fill out paperwork, and take a tour of the studio. The instructor who went over everything with me was again energetic and welcoming, which made me feel immediately at ease.
Once that’s done you get ready to start the class. For the first class, you will have an instructor who walks you through everything (i.e. shows you how to wrap your hands and how to master the moves).
What the Class Consists of
The best part about I Love Kickboxing kickboxing classes is that no two classes are going to be the same. They all have the same groundwork, but you never have to worry about going to class and doing the same thing repeatedly. The groundwork consists of:
- Warming Up (Includes things like jogging, planks, and burpees)
- Bag Work (mastering kickboxing on the bag)
- Partner Drills
- Cool Down (they also provide a fitness tip during this section)
The entire workout session lasts for an hour but since you’re moving the entire time it seems like you’ve only been working out for 15-20 minutes. However, please be aware that the first class will probably kick your butt if you’re someone who hasn’t been taking working out very seriously like me and just doing it whenever you felt like.
I was sweating my butt off within 10 minutes and my legs were so sore from squats and lunges. However, it is okay to break when you need to and join back in after you’ve gathered the strength. Thankfully, by my second class I could keep up the pace and not take as many breaks – I was still sweating though.
What I Love Kickboxing Costs
I think the prices vary based on the location. However, for me, I had the option of signing up for 7 months for $149 per month or 12 months at $125 per month. If I signed up on the day of my first class I received $100 off the initial fee (which is $197) and I also had my $29 promo code price applied to it.
While it is fun, I’m looking to just whip myself back into shape and get back into working out multiple times per week consistently so I only signed up for 7 months. Plus, the kids will be doing sports and back in school soon so I don’t want to find that it’s too time-consuming for me to try to work, handle their extracurricular activities and make it out there. Therefore, 7 months is more than enough time for me since (at least while they are out of school) I have worked it out so I can go 3-4 times a week to workout.
Final Thoughts on I Love Kickboxing
From my experience, I Love Kickboxing is worth all the hype that it has going on for itself right now. The staff are awesome and full of energy so you will want to keep pushing through. Additionally, with the assortment of class times its easy to go in for an hour and work on getting fit. Last, the facility is clean and it also gives me the excuse to go purchase more cute leggings from the Victoria Secret Sports Line lol.
Have you ever tried kickboxing before? If so, tell me what your experience was like.
