As of entrepreneur and mom of three young boys, my life is busy. From running two businesses, running this blog, making sure the kids have extracurricular activities, and spending time with my family it feels like I am always running at 100 miles per hour. I’m sure you can relate.
While making sure that my family (well the kids at least) eat healthy meals each day, spending time in the kitchen slaving over a hot stove multiple times a day isn’t something that I can do. Don’t get me wrong, when I’m in a mood to cook, I’ll whip up a 5-star meal, but I just don’t have the energy to do this daily.
As you probably have imagined, I have come up with a few hacks of my own to make sure that mealtime is unbelievably easy – especially on those days when I barely have the energy to get out of bed – and today I am sharing them with you.
Don’t Feel the Need to Go All Out on Breakfast
The way to set your kids up for a successful day is to make sure that they have a good breakfast. This is what gives them the energy that they need to make it through the first part of the day.
Something that you will always find in my refrigerator is Jimmy Dean Turkey Sausage Patties and Turkey Sausage Links. These can easily be combined with some hash browns, eggs, and toast to make a delicious and healthy breakfast for the kids and I can always have a sausage and egg sandwich and be good for the day.
If you shop at Kroger you can find not only those Jimmy Dean products but also regular Jimmy Dean patties and links, sausage egg and cheese croissants and sausage egg and cheese biscuits. They even have meat lovers cheddar and mozzarella hash browns and sausage egg and cheese hash browns. However, I don’t eat pork so I just stick to their turkey sausage line.
Lunch Can be Microwavable
If the kids aren’t in the mood for a sandwich or other cold lunch, my go to food is Tyson Crispy Chicken Strips. While they can be warmed up in the oven (I know not everyone likes microwavable food), if you just want lunch to be quick and easy, you can pop them in the microwave for a few minutes, add some barbecue sauce on the side and serve with carrots and ranch.
If you think the kids need something a little more filling throw some fried pickles or French fries in the deep fryer.
Tyson products such as the crispy chicken strips, chicken nuggets, all-natural chicken patties, buffalo chicken strips, and all natural dino nuggets can all be found at your local Kroger as well.
Don’t Be Afraid to Cook a Light Dinner
With the boys having football practice Monday – Friday each evening until night, cooking a large dinner has now been dedicated to only the weekends for now. As our schedule changes, I may make amendments, though.
For dinner, a quick, easy, and delicious dinner that fills their tummy is Grilled Chicken Nuggets. This weekend the boys tried them for the very first time after our shopping trip to Kroger.
We paired it with mixed veggies and rice. They were asking for seconds!
Other great options available at Kroger from the Premium Selects line are the Breaded Nuggets and Breaded Tenders.

Final Thoughts on Making Mealtime Unbelievably Easy
As you can see, I have covered how to make breakfast, lunch, and dinner unbelievably easy. The best part is by purchasing the same food items that I do, you don’t have to increase your monthly grocery bill. In fact, with my family of 5, I spend $400 or less each month on groceries and we have cut our take out and fast food bill down to $50 or less per month.
How do you make mealtime easy when you have a hectic schedule but want to make sure that your family is eating healthy?
