Being a female can be hard at times, am I right? We have so many things to do and even simple things such as finding the perfect facial cleanser for our skin types can be a huge pain. Trust me, I know, I have gone through various cleansers over the years and expect I will go through even more throughout my lifetime. Therefore, today, I decided to share with you some of my best tips for finding the perfect facial cleanser for your skin type.
Identify Your Problem
Why do you need a cleanser? Is it because you have dry skin, oily skin, or combination skin? Maybe it is something else. But, the first thing you have to narrow down, to make the choices simpler, is what your skin issue is.
One cleanser that I recently had the pleasure of testing out was the Exuviance Purifying Cleansing Gel. It boasts of having a soap-free formula that is nondrying and gentle to the skin, its conditioners soothe and improve texture, and the best part is it is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin (for people like me).
Check the Ingredients of the Cleanser
What I have learned over the years is that not all ingredients are good for your skin. Even if you do identify a cleanser that advertises to assist you with your problem and it can have good reviews by others, it is still important to check the ingredients yourself.
I learned the hard way, unfortunately. But, one thing I did notice during my trial and error process was usually when I had a bad reaction to products, the products all had similar ingredients. Thankfully, with the Exuviance Purifying Cleansing Gel, none of these ingredients are present. Instead, the cleanser contains the anti-aging properties of Alpha and Poly Hydroxy Acids (AHA and PHA), along with skin conditioners to soothe and improve skin texture.
How Frequently Can It Be Used?
Another factor to look at before settling on the perfect cleanser for your skin type is to determine how frequently it can be used and how often you want to use the cleanser. I personally prefer to use a cleanser in the morning upon wake up and again before going to bed. I feel as though it helps me start off my day fresh and at night it helps me wash away the day to be ready for a peaceful night of sleep.
With the Exuviance Purifying Cleansing Gel, I am able to use it both in the morning and at night (they recommend daily AM/PM usage), and it is very easy to use. This cleanser cleans deep to remove makeup and impurities and after washing it off, each time my face feels instantly refreshed. The best part is it is super easy to use too. You use it just like any standard cleanser – wet your face, apply the cleanser evenly, and rinse it off with water. It takes less than five minutes for me to do twice a day and the softness that I enjoy afterward is totally worth it.
How Much Does It Cost?
Cleansers can be super cheap or they can be very expensive. I list this as the last factor because price doesn’t play a major point from the beginning. Instead, you should check the previous points first and then base the last thing you consider as the price.
Why is this?
From my experience, cheap cleansers can sometimes work better than the $50 and $60 ones. It all depends on what you are looking for. Therefore, I look at price last and base my final selection, after reviewing other factors, on the price that I am comfortable paying.
Bottom Line
I understand the frustration that comes along with having to find a new cleanser for your skin type and hope that these tips can help you. I keep a few different cleansers on hand, so when my skin because immune to one I have another option to turn to, without having to go through the long trial and error process all over.
