Potential Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post.

Apple cider vinegar has been promoted as having a ton of potential benefits when it comes to health, skin, and even hair.

In addition, some people even use it when cleaning as an alternative to toxic household cleaners.

Apple cider vinegar is also a household essential in my home and today I wanted to share some of the ways that I’ve used apple cider vinegar and also the potential benefits that you may experience. However, keep in mind that I am not a health professional so before adding apple cider vinegar to your daily routine, if you’re concerned you should check with a medical professional first.

Now, let’s get started.

How to safely take apple cider vinegar

Before ingesting apple cider vinegar it’s important to know how to take it safely so you can lower your chances of experiencing side effects of apple cider vinegar.

When taking apple cider vinegar you have three options:

  1. Take it straight
  2. Mix it in with something (i.e. food or water)
  3. Purchase a product that contains it (i.e. powder or gummies)

It’s recommended that if you take it straight or mix it in with something that you keep your intake per day to 1 to 2 tablespoons.

When I was ingesting apple cider vinegar daily in hopes of helping with weight loss I would do 1 tablespoon in the morning and 1 tablespoon at night. My preference was to take it straight (like a shot) and get it over with. I’m not really a fan of the taste to be mixing in water, etc.

For those who don’t want to risk accidentally taking too much apple cider vinegar, you always have the option of purchasing products that have worked out the dosing for you. Popular examples include powders and gummies.

Possible side effects of apple cider vinegar

Small amounts of apple cider vinegar should be okay for most people, however, excessive amounts of it can cause the following side effects:

  • Low potassium levels
  • Damage to tooth enamel
  • Burns on skin or throat

Also, if you’re currently taking any type of medication you want to check with your medical professional before making apple cider vinegar a part of your daily routine.

The potential benefits of apple cider vinegar

Now that you’re aware of how to safely consume apple cider vinegar, have a product recommendation, and know the possible side effects of it – especially if misused – let’s discuss a few of the potential benefits of apple cider vinegar.

May kill off harmful bacteria

Apple cider vinegar may kill off harmful bacteria, which is why it is often recommended when cleaning, treating nail fungus, or as a lice removal solution.

It has also been used in alternative medicine for treating coughs, and colds

Some people even use it as a food preservative to keep bacteria away.

I personally use it for cleaning the garbage disposal, drains, and floors.

Could help you lose weight

If you’ve been struggling with your weight loss journey you may have considered adding apple cider vinegar to your daily routine to jumpstart your results again.

When you take apple cider vinegar before meals, it’s said to make you feel fuller, which results in you consuming fewer calories each day and losing weight.

It’s not a miracle weight loss solution or anything as you’ll still need to eat healthy, exercise, and get an adequate amount of sleep each day.

May improve some skin conditions

Some people find that apple cider vinegar works great for their skin. People have used a diluted solution for acne, eczema, and more.

I occasionally add it to my hair washing routine to help cleanse my scalp.

Adding apple cider vinegar to your daily routine could be beneficial

Apple cider vinegar is beneficial for a lot of people when used wisely. However, misusing it can cause you even more problems thanks to the potential side effects.

You can purchase a product such as the Superior Source Organic Beet Root + Organic Apple Cider Vinegar Powder is a simple way to add apple cider vinegar to your daily routine or you can create your own apple cider vinegar essentials.
