Cute, Simple Gender Reveal Ideas That You’ll Love

There are so many gender reveal ideas for parents these days that it’s easy to become overwhelmed when trying to select the right way to reveal your baby’s gender.

Maybe you want to do a small gender reveal at home (as I did with my gender reveal for my baby girl) or a simple gender reveal that is still fun for a group gender reveal (as I did with my youngest son).

Regardless of the size of your gender reveal party I think you’ll find these simple gender reveal ideas to be a great starting point.

Gender reveal game

Unable to have an in-person gender reveal due to not having any friends or relatives nearby?

The Gender Reveal Game may be just the online gender reveal idea that you were looking for.

With this online gender reveal idea you have your friends and family bet on what the gender will be.

One lucky guesser will win a prize (i.e. money, gift card, or hand-delivered baby photo) and you will receive the money raised thru your game.

It’s the perfect way to allow those who want to give you a new parent gift a way to do so that will result in you having baby essentials that you’ll actually use AND it’s a fun way for loved ones who live far away to be a part of your pregnancy.

It’s 100% free for you to use and payments are processed via Stripe.

Gender reveal cake

One of my favorite simple gender reveal ideas is to go with a gender reveal cake.

This is how my youngest son’s gender was announced (that’s my cake in the photo).

Simple, Cute Gender Reveal Ideas

To do this easy gender reveal idea, just tell your ultrasound tech that you want them to put your baby’s gender in a sealed envelope instead of telling you at your appointment.

Once you have the envelope take it to your favorite bakery and have them create your unique gender reveal cake.

At your gender reveal party, when you cut inside of the cake it’ll be pink or blue and everyone attending can find out your baby’s gender together.

If you want to make your party a little extra fun, you can even add a poll to your gender reveal party invitations that allow guests to vote on the baby’s gender for a chance to win a small prize.

Gender reveal confetti cannon

One of the most popular simple gender reveal ideas for this year has been cannons.

To keep things safe for everyone, I recommend going with a confetti cannon though instead of explosives.

This simple gender reveal idea is what I decided to do to announce my baby girl’s gender.

Gender Reveal Decorations

To pull this off, I had a designated “Gender Keeper” who went to Party City and purchased some gender reveal confetti cannons that we all shot off at the same time.

I did have a more intimate gender reveal at home, which consisted of grilling, taking photos, and the big boys playing, but it was fun nonetheless AND I was super excited to see the pink confetti since previously I only had boys.

However, I will warn you that while this is a cute, simple, gender reveal idea you will have to clean up afterward. Thankfully, we shot the cannons off outside because the confetti was EVERYWHERE!

The only thing I would have done differently would have been getting a canopy or inflatable tent from instent.com since it was extra hot and sunny the day of my gender reveal.

Piñata

If you have older kids and want to have them involved in your pregnancy and/or gender reveal party, a pinata is one of the super simple gender reveal ideas that I’d recommend.

Like, with the gender reveal confetti cannons, you will need a ‘gender keeper’, but it’s as simple as getting a themed pinate and filling it with pink or blue candy.

However, make sure that your gender reveal pinata is a pull string one, because the last thing you want to happen during your reveal party is to get hit in your belly (or anywhere else for that matter) with a bat.

Fortune cookies

Gender reveal fortune cookies are one of my favorite creative simple gender reveal ideas.

I mean who doesn’t like opening fortune cookies?

Plus, with this simple gender reveal idea you’ll actually be giving guests an accurate future prediction.

Of course, the most important thing about pregnancy is to deliver a healthy baby regardless of its gender is.

However, to make pregnancy a little more fun you can celebrate small milestones, such as finding out your baby’s gender.

A gender reveal is a great alternative to a baby shower, especially for moms who have other kids and don’t want to do another baby shower but want to celebrate their baby while in the womb with their loved ones.

Did you have a gender reveal during your pregnancy or did you want to be surprised at their birth? Tell me about your experience in the comments.

I haven’t been to a gender reveal party but they look like a lot of fun. My favorite are the balloons wrapped inside a big box that is unopened and the balloons float out.
