Grilling season doesn’t have to end when summer does. With these fall barbeque essentials, you can continue hosting get-togethers even as the weather starts to change.
Today, I wanted to share with you some of my must-have fall barbeque essentials outside of the grill of course.
Note, that some of the products mentioned in the post contain affiliate links.
Delicious Appetizer and Main Course
No Fall Barbeque is complete without a delicious appetizer and main course.
If you’re not a fan of food subscription boxes, I recommend trying Southside Market & Barbeque for all of your fall barbeque meats.
Southside Market delivers their exceptionally delicious meats directly to your door AND with a variety of sausages and smoked meats available, you’re able to find the perfect appetizers and main courses that will leave your guests fully satisfied.
The Sausage Slammers are a great appetizer option to start guests off while you put the finishing touches on the main course such as a whole brisket.
Until 12/31 you can use the Southwest Market discount code TXBBQ10 to get 10% off sitewide.
If you’re unfamiliar with Southside Market, they were started in 1882 in Texas and over the years they have grown from an Austin staple to being served at fall barbeques around the country.
My family has tried out some of their sausages before and they were definitely a big hit.

Plenty of Ice
When you’re preparing your home for guests you understandably have a lot of things on your mind and may even be utilizing a checklist.
However, one of the things that I know I typically forget about when entertaining is the ice.
Ice will be needed for the adults AND you can even make snow cones for the kids as a delicious dessert or before-dinner treat to help them cool down after hours of playing.

Outdoor Dining Table
Fall is a wonderful time of year to actually be able to enjoy a meal outside. It’s typically, cooler than the summer months, but also not as cold as the winter months.
A good quality outdoor dining table will last you for years to come and is even beneficial to you and your family even when you’re not hosting fall barbeques.
For example, an outdoor square dining table from Harbor Classics can easily fit in with most outdoor entertaining spaces AND will last you for many seasons to come.
Firepit
Roasting marshmallows around a fire is the perfect way to end any fall barbeque.
Both adults and children can enjoy nice conversations, making memories, and a delicious treat.
There is an assortment of firepits to choose from, but I’ve created a list of the best firepits under $250 for those on a budget.

Outdoor Entertainment
While hanging out indoors during a fall barbeque is an option, it’s more fun if you’re able to get everybody outdoors in the fresh air.
The best way to do this is to have a couple of outdoor entertainment items readily available.
While the pool probably won’t be an option there are other outdoor entertainment options such as:
- Cornhole
- Ramp shot
- A sports combo set
- Karaoke
Bug Protection
Depending on the weather, it’s possible that pests such as mosquitoes may still be around during your fall barbeque.
To help keep guests happy you can offer bug protection that they can apply topically or invest in some tiki torches.
We recently did a DIY deck update and the tiki torches have definitely been a great investment.
Comfortable Shoes
Hosting a fall barbeque is a lot different than attending a fall barbeque.
When attending you can be cute and all, but when hosting, for me at least, it’s more important to ensure that I’m comfortable as well – especially my feet.
During the fall months, I like to go with comfortable day slippers such as the ones available at Famolare before switching into slipper boots.
The Famolare day slippers have faux fur lining and faux fur in the upper part AND also include a padded contour insole.
My youngest son even finds them exceptionally comfortable and tries to take them for himself.
Closing Thoughts on Fall Barbeque Essentials
If you’re planning to host some barbeques this fall these are my recommended fall barbeque essentials.
They’ll keep both you and your guests happy and satisfied while also allowing everyone to make some great memories together.
