Nutrisense
NutriSense provides you with a CGM (continuous glucose monitor) that allows you to track & analyze your blood glucose levels around the clock in real-time. You can deep dive to see exactly what is impacting your glucose levels (i.e food, sleep, exercise, and stress).
To see if you qualify you’ll just need to take a quick quiz here.
This product is ideal for those who are health/nutrition conscious, are trying to reach a target weight, or just want to improve their habits in general.
Use the NutriSense code VICTORIA25 to receive $25 off one of their monthly plans if you want expert advice from dieticians.
MyFitnessPal
MyFitnessPal is one of the health apps that’s perfect for those looking to lose weight, get started with calorie counting, and have a supportive community to connect with others who know the emotions and challenges that you’re facing.
MyFitnessPal does have a free and paid version. I’ve tried both plans out and found that you can lose a ton of weight without upgrading to the paid version.
From my personal experience, I have been able to lose 20+ pounds and successfully keep them off without a personal trainer just by calorie counting and working out 4-5 times per week at home.
Before using MyFitnessPal I tried out several other calorie-counting apps and they just couldn’t compete.
Some of the main features that I like about this app include:
- The ability to easily scan barcodes of food items to insert the calories
- The ability to save recipes for easy calorie tracking on your favorite dishes
- The ability to track your measurements and your weight
- Alerts when you reach a milestone
- Active and supportive Facebook group
- Challenges that motivate you to get fit and offer the chance to win prizes
- The ability to upload photos and view them in collage form so you can visibly and easily see your progress
- Connects with Apple Watch and other fitness trackers to keep track of your exercise, calories burned, and other health data
Overall, if you’re trying to get started with calorie counting give this app a try first.
You can start off with the free plan and save yourself some money upfront before investing in a paid calorie-counting app.
If after a few weeks, the features of the paid plan sound appealing to you, go for it.
But, give yourself some time first to navigate the app and see if calorie counting is something that you want to stick with for the long haul before starting another subscription that’ll drain your wallet each month without serving you any actual use.
Available for Apple and Android.
LetsGetChecked
Lets Get Checked is a health app that’ll allow you to take a variety of health tests from the comfort of your home.
It’s ideal for those who live busy lives and can’t make it to the doctor or the lab to have blood work done.
You simply purchase the type of test you need, whether it’s women’s health, men’s health, or even sexual health, and wait for the kit to arrive. Once it comes, take the blood sample, ship it back, and wait for them to contact you with your results.
Make sure to check out my Lets Get Checked review.
Use the Lets Get Checked coupon code “HEALTHY20” to take 20% off of your first order.
Available for Apple.
Do Fasting
Do Fasting is another health app that is aimed at those who are trying to lose weight or get started with intermittent fasting.
You can think of this app as your personal intermittent fasting assistant.
This intermittent fasting app works by having you take a short quiz and then it guides you to creating the perfect intermittent fasting plan for you.
Some features of this weight loss app that you may enjoy include:
- A countdown timer that keeps track of your fasting period
- Healthy meal options
- At-home exercise options
- Access to a very active and supportive Facebook group.
- The ability to pause the fast for an amount of time (i.e. you may want to do alternate day fasting or take a break for 24 hours)
If you’re not sure about intermittent fasting, in general, make sure you check out my DoFasting reviews where I explain intermittent fasting and reveal my results from one week of fasting for 16 hours per day.
Available for Apple and Android.
OpenFit
OpenFit, originally known as Gixo, is an exercise app that offers live and on-demand classes to help you reach your fitness goals.
I got started with them when they were known as Gixo and I give all of the credit for me falling in love (maybe even becoming a tad obsessed) with working out to them.
Again, this is another one of the paid health apps, but they do offer a free 14-day trial.
They have a variety of exercise classes available for those of all exercise levels and the trainers are absolutely wonderful.
Some of my favorite classes with them include treadmill running, weight training, and strength training.
I do plan to give the Barre class a go because there have just been so many positive things said about it.
Additionally, they also have a very active and supportive Facebook group. Plus, unlike other apps with Facebook communities, you’ll actually find the trainers from your classes active in the group as well.
If you’ve been considering joining an exercise program or just need a little push to get started working out at home, OpenFit is an exercise app to definitely give a try.
I never knew that I could love AND look forward to running on the treadmill 1-2 times per day until I started using this app.
Available for Apple and Android.
Mealime
Mealime is a meal planning app that makes meal planning healthy meals for your family each week a breeze.
You simply select the recipes that you want to make and they add the ingredients to your grocery shopping list to make sure that you have everything that you need to make your meals for the week.
They do have a free and paid version. However, I’ve been sticking to the free version and things have been going just fine.
It cuts down my weekly meal planning time each week by hours as I don’t have to look up new healthy recipes nor do I have to manually write down or type of the ingredients I need.
If you’ve been thinking about eating healthier or getting started will meal planning this is one app that you’ll definitely want to check out.
Available on Apple and Android.
