Did you know that 1 in 8 people struggle with hunger in the US? How about 1 in 6 children face hunger every day.
The statistics are alarming, however, brands such as Food Lion, are aware of this and not only try to help bring awareness to these issues but also help change the statistics.
For example, Food Lion cares for our neighbors by working to end hunger through its Food Lion Feeds initiative.
Currently, they have a goal of providing 1 billion more meals by 2025.
You can assist with helping them reach this goal by spreading the word about food insecurity in communities in the form of participating in the #NoEmptyPlate challenge. By using the hashtag #NoEmptyPlate on social media and sharing a photo of yourself holding an empty plate Food Lion will donate one meal to a family.
Additionally, today, I’m sharing five kid-friendly lunch meat and cheese ideas that can be purchased with Online Shopping with pick up or delivery or in person at your local Food Lion that don’t cost a lot of money. Some items you can even find deeper discounts on by shopping Food Lion’s Weekly deals. Read Also: Quick Kids Breakfast Meals
