How Paloma Health works

Once you receive the at-home thyroid test you’ll need to start by activating your kit.

Next, you’ll want to collect a blood sample for the test card (watch this video for tips and instructions).

After approximately 30 minutes, the card will be dry and you can mail in the kit and wait for an email with your results.

If it turns out that you do have hypothyroidism you can schedule an in-depth video call with a board-certified thyroid physician that can prescribe you medication that you can pick up from your local pharmacy.

Is Paloma Health legit?

Paloma Health is a legit at-home thyroid test. They use a CLIA/CAP-accredited lab.

If it turns out that you do have hypothyroidism they have thyroid specialists available who can provide you with care and prescriptions.

The good news is their board-certified thyroid specialists only treat hypothyroidism so you can expect in-depth information when doing your video call. Plus, they’ll be able to tell you when you can expect to start experiencing results from taking medication or supplements.

Does Paloma Health accept health insurance?

Most health insurance will not cover the at-home thyroid test. However, if you are diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, consultations with Paloma Health doctors are covered by insurance.

Paloma Health accepts most insurance plans and you may even be able to use your HSA/FSA account when purchasing the at-home thyroid test.

How long does it take to get results back from Paloma Health?

Paloma Health

Paloma Health aims to provide you with your results within 5 days of receiving your test card.

One thing I liked about the shipping process is once USPS accepts your package they send out an email that allows you to track your package’s journey to them so you know when to start the five-day countdown.

Paloma Health Review

Overall, I had a positive experience with the Paloma Health at-home thyroid test

Collecting the blood sample for the rate card was easier than expected. This is probably due to them providing such great tips to make sure blood is flowing with the first prick.

I also found their packaging to be bright, cheery, and creative. Plus, the lollypop was a lovely surprise.

You can see my initial reactions and my experience in-depth in the video below:

In addition to having such a great experience with collecting the sample for the test card, I also found their website to be very helpful. For those who have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, I’d recommend giving their blog a read as it’s a great resource.

After mailing the kit, I was alerted that they received my sample at the lab on a Friday, then by the following Wednesday (3 business days later), I was emailed to check my results.

It turned out that all of my tests came back normal so I didn’t have to do a call with a specialist, however, I was pleased with the speed of processing my labs. I would definitely recommend the Paloma Health at-home thyroid test to others.

If you’ve been experiencing any symptoms of hyperthyroidism or just want to get your thyroid checked I recommend trying out the Paloma Health at-home thyroid test. It only takes a few minutes to take and you get your results back fairly quickly.
