One of my goals for 2018 was to get my health in order. When you work long hours, your health is the first thing that suffers. I have to admit in past years I’ve been lazy when it comes to this, but I’ve made an effort this year to get things back on track.
I find that by taking care of my health I have more energy, I’m more productive, and I feel great.
I know I’m not the only one who has health goals in 2018. So today I am going to share with you a quick guide on how you can regain control of your health and wellness.
Put Your Health into Your to Do List
Taking care of your health is all in the planning. You need to have a strategy before you start to take action. It all starts with making it a priority in your life.
One of the ways to do this is through tools like Habitica. This program treats meeting your goals like a role-playing video game. The more you complete goals the more you level up and upgrade your character.
If you want something more traditional, you can always load up Google Calendar or your computer’s standard desktop calendar with your health tasks for the day.
I also use this RHS Weekly Desk Planner. It’s an undated planner without dates on them, so you don’t need to worry about missing a day. These tear-off sheets can be stuck anywhere you want. I always have them near my computer, so I never forget what I need to do.
And the bright, colorful illustrations always catch my eye.
Make Exercising Fun
If exercising isn’t fun you’re going to give up fast. It’s why I recommend that everyone tries kickboxing this year I always have a blast there and get a great workout in just an hour. (I’m getting close to my year mark). Find something you enjoy and pick that up. It doesn’t matter what it is as long as you’re getting a workout.
I must admit that I’ve fallen off the kickboxing wagon lately. I used to do four classes a week, but during the holidays I was so backed up with work that I took a month off and now I’m working my way up from two classes a week. I had to do something because I’m not liking the weight I’m gaining from just sitting at my desk snacking all day, so dropping some pounds and going down a few pants (or legging) sizes is something that I feel will help me regain control of my health and wellness this year.
When you’re finding it hard to motivate yourself to workout, change things up. In one of my other posts, I wrote about choosing the right exercise attire and how that can make a big difference.
I wanted to go to class to try out my new watercolor mermaid leggings. At my last class, I got tons of compliments and it felt great. Those leggings were just what I needed to get my butt back on the kickboxing train.
Little things to keep exercising fun and to fight off the monotony of doing the same thing every time is what will keep you going day after day and week after week.

Add Some Supplements to Your Life
Supplements are a great way to get vital nutrients and vitamins when you don’t have time to craft every meal. If you’re the sort of person who has to eat at your desk, supplements make sure you’re still taking care of your health. It’s something you don’t want to forget about.
I’ve started using two great supplements to take care of my wellness needs. The first is Vitamin Packs and the other is Multiforce.
Everyone is different and there are no standardized plans you can follow. That’s why I like Vitamin Packs because you fill out your own health profile and they come up with packs designed for you.
It goes into a lot of detail, including your health conditions, allergies, sleep habits, diet, and more. If you take any medications it takes that into account too when it sends out your personalized vitamin supplements monthly.
I like it because it takes all the hard work out of coming up with the right supplements for you.
As you can see from the photo above they give you a decent amount of options. In my case, the migraine support and sound sleep support are my favs. I suffer from chronic migraines and I also have weird sleeping habits. So, when they selected those options for me I was appreciative. The mood support can come in handy too because somedays I just get so stressed and irritable. The best part is the pack’s ship in two days and you can cancel your monthly subscription at any time. Now, how convenient, affordable, and authentic does Vitamin Packs sound?
And right now, they’re offering a 50% discount. All you have to do is click my Vitamin Packs link if you want to try it out without paying the full price!
The other supplement I recommend is Multiforce. This is essential if you’re exercising regularly because exercise leads to high levels of acid, which you also get from high-acid foods. That’s why you feel tired, get joint pains, and it can even lead to osteoarthritis later in life.
That’s why I take this 100% natural gluten-free supplement to get rid of that excess acidity and to keep my body in balance every night before bed.
Try the mango and lemon flavors. The taste takes some getting used to, but the scientifically proven benefits make it worthwhile.
Plus, this is an all-natural product, doesn’t cause any negative side effects, is gluten and soy free, and it’s even suitable for vegetarians. If you’re a health-conscious person or highly stressed (like me), smoke or drink alcohol, or exercise a lot then this is one product that’s worth giving a try.
Make sure to enter the giveaway at the end of this post to have a chance to give Multiforce a try for yourself.
Plus, if you don’t win the giveaway you can take 10% off your first purchase and get free shipping simply by entering the code: multiforce10.
Have an Accountability Partner
No matter how motivated you are there are always going to be times when you hit the wall. As I talked about, I hit a wall with kickboxing recently. But accountability partners are always great for providing that extra motivation.
It doesn’t even have to be a friend you know. It could be someone you met online. Virtual accountability partners are a great alternative.
There are lots of Reddit subs you can take advantage of to reach your goals. Many people have already reached their goals with virtual accountability partners.
Focus on What Works for You
No guide can tell you anything about what’s likely to work for you and what isn’t. Everybody is different. To regain control of your health and wellness you must focus on what works for you and what doesn’t.
For example, not everyone is going to get their daily dose of exercise through kickboxing. Not everyone is going to need to take the same supplements.
Copying what someone else has done to be successful is never going to work. When you don’t get the same results as them it’s only going to discourage you.
Use the principles of success, not the exact specifications.
Create an Environment for Success
What is the most important factor in anyone’s success story?
It must be the environment because without positive influences you’re never going to maintain your momentum in the long-term. Create an environment for your success by eliminating temptations and other bad influences.
If your vice is a bad diet, train yourself to avoid junk food when buying groceries. I know mine used to be fried foods, but I have eliminated fried food from my diet and have been holding strong for about six months now. You could shop online for groceries instead, so you don’t get tempted to venture into the candy aisle.
Get rid of other things that encourage bad habits. Stop keeping too many treats in the house. Clear out some of those cupboards.
Find out what your major points of weakness are and think about how you can stay out of those situations.
Final Thoughts on Regaining Control of Your Health and Wellness
Overall regaining control of your health and wellness doesn’t need a complete lifestyle change. Make those little alterations to the way you do things and you’ll reap a ton of health benefits.
If you follow the steps I’ve listed here you’ll take a monumental step closer to taking back control of your health and wellness.
