Whether you just don’t have the time to go out to the spa or can’t find a way to fit it into your budget, you can still pamper yourself at home by planning a relaxing spa day at home.
It’s super easy to do and doesn’t involve having to spend a lot of money.
Here are my best tips for planning a relaxing spa day at home.

#1 Clean the area where you’ll have your spa day in advance
One of the most important steps is to make sure whichever rooms you’re going to be occupying during your at-home spa day are clean.
For me, this is my bathroom and bedroom.
The purpose of your spa day is to relax. However, if things are cluttery/out of place, the last thing you’re going to be doing is relaxing. Instead, you’re going to be thinking of what chores you need to get done.
#2 Make a plan for the kids to be occupied
To experience the ultimate uninterrupted pampering for yourself it’s super important to have a plan for your kids.
For me, this means planning my spa days at home when the kids are gone, or at night when they are asleep.
Even if you have older kids, that you don’t have to watch constantly, it’s not very relaxing when you can hear them arguing or horseplaying while you’re trying to enjoy a tranquil environment.
#3 Make sure you have all of your favorite beauty products
Everyone’s skincare routine varies, so understandably, you’ll need to customize the products that you want to use during your relaxing spa day at home.
During my at-home spa days I like to use the following items:
- Facial Mask or Facial Scrub
- Body Scrub
- Bath Bombs
- Foot Scrub
- Detox foot pads
- Lip Scrub
- Lotion
- Perfume
- Mascara
- New Outfit
Typically, I start off with a facial mask/facial scrub and lip scrub before moving on to enjoying a nice relaxing bubble bath. My current favorite facial products for my at-home spa days are the masks by Food Story AND I’m really enjoying Tub Therapy Bath Bombs in my bubble baths.
Once out of the bath, I’ll then proceed to do a pedicure on my feet (depending on if I’ve been to the nail salon or not recently). Then, it’s time to get dressed, by putting on some perfume, mascara, and a new outfit.
Even if you’re not planning to go anywhere putting on that outfit that you’ve purchased and never got around to wearing can make you feel so much better.
The bottom line, though, is just to make sure you have your favorite beauty products on hand. Whether that’s a lotion with peptides that you’ve been meaning to try or some new makeup that you haven’t been able to try out yet.

These are the three steps that you need to plan a relaxing spa day at home.
Once you have crossed off these three things you’re free to just enjoy your at-home spa day to the fullest.

Oh Yes! I love this idea! I am lucky to have two daughters and we often organize SPA Day at home!
I do this a lot on Mother’s Day. My husband takes the kids out to give me some peace and quiet while I have my at home spa day.
This sounds like a beautiful relaxing time! I can’t wait till I have a day off to do this!
Those first two steps are so important! It is hard to relax when there are kids needing attention, or the room is messy.
This is a great idea. I was thinking of doing a home spa day with my daughters but need to get face masks.
I could use a good massage and some relaxing drink at home, too.
Spa day at home sounds so nice. A long hot bath, give myself a pedicure and lots of lotion. Sounds so nice~~
Creating a luxurious spa day at home is easier than I thought.
I’d love to create a luxury spa day at home. I cannot wait to try these suggestions.
Love this post! At-home spa days are the best 🙂
That sounds like a wonderfully relaxing Spa Day in, my brain tingled at the thought of preparing for one!
It would be fun to do our own spa, especially when we worry about picking up Covid germs in the winter months. These are great ideas and my girls would certainly enjoy a home spa.
I love planning spa days at home. Thanks for sharing these tips.
Ah spaaa day. I’m all about it and think I now need to plan one this weekend. Thank you!
I should do this with my daughter. We have been wanting to do a spa but are too cheap.
