Have you heard the news?
Walmart is now offering grocery delivery services in select areas…my local Walmart happens to be one and I’ve been super excited about trying it out since I first heard.
As many of you may know, I’ve been using Walmart Grocery Pickup for over 2 years and I have never been disappointed. The one time I strayed to try out a grocery delivery service (I won’t mention the name but feel free to search my site to read about my experience) it didn’t go well at all.
However, now that Walmart is offering grocery delivery services, I couldn’t be more excited because this will allow me to save even more time and money, which couldn’t come up at a better time since the holidays are right around the corner.
Therefore, today I wanted to share with you five reasons why I’m excited about Walmart Grocery Delivery and why you should be too.
Grocery Shopping Online Helps You Stick to Your Budget
When it comes to food, I know we all must eat it, but it’s not something that I personally want to be spending loads of money on each month. Let’s face it, I have better things I could do with that money than shoving it down my mouth.
Therefore, I have a strict grocery budget of spending no more than $400-$500 per month on groceries for my family of five. Since I begin ordering my groceries online from Walmart, I’m always able to stick to my budget because there aren’t all the temptations of picking up extra stuff as it is when I go grocery shopping in person (especially when the kids are tagging along).
Instead, I write down everything we need for the week (and plan out the meals I’ll cook each day) and solely stick to that list.
The best part is after ordering for a few weeks you won’t even have to search for your items anymore as you’ll have the option to “Reorder Your Essentials”.
Online Grocery Shopping and Grocery Delivery Helps You Save Time
How long do you usually spend in Walmart when doing groceries?
For me, I could easily spend 2-3 hours in there in addition to getting a ton of other things outside of groceries. Then, if your local Walmart stays busy like mine, that’s 30 minutes (maybe more) spent checking out.
As a working mom of three active boys, that is time wasted. AND it’s a huge pain to try to find the ideal time to go grocery shopping.
With online grocery shopping, I may spend 30 minutes (when shopping from my favorites list) if that placing my grocery order. Walmart Grocery Pickup services do require you to go out to the store and wait for them to load you up. However, with the new Walmart Grocery Delivery services you save even more time because all you must do is place your order and then put the groceries away when they arrive.
That’s right no more trying to find the perfect day when the kids don’t have after-school activities or you’re not too tired. Schedule your delivery at the time most convenient for you and you’re good to go.
Note: My local area doesn’t allow same day pickup or delivery unless placing the order before 9 am. However, it may differ for your area. Additionally, if you just want to try out Walmart Grocery Delivery to see if the delivery fee is worth it when checking out use the code: DISCOVER to get free delivery on your first three orders until January 31, 2019.
Walmart Grocery Pickup Services Are Already Amazing…So Delivery is Next Level Big
I simply can’t get enough of Walmart Grocery Pickup services as they do a great job picking out the products when it comes to meats and even fruits and veggies. Plus, if they’re out of something they will give you the next size up for the original price of the size you initially ordered (you’re not getting this perk in the store).
Therefore, since I’ve been using them for years and never had a problem with any of their choices, grocery delivery is next level big for me because instead of having to have someone pick up the groceries now, I can have them delivered straight to my door with the same level of service.
It’s Perfect for Folks Who Don’t Drive
If you’re like me and don’t have a license (I have a permit but haven’t gone for my driving test yet) grocery pickup is nice, but grocery delivery is better. You don’t have to worry about missing your planned time slot or any of that. The groceries are simply delivered to your doorstep.
You Can Get More Than Just Groceries
Now, don’t let the grocery part fool you into thinking that groceries are the only thing on the table. I’ve ordered cookware sets, exercise items, cleaning supplies, and more through Walmart Grocery. While obviously, the entire store isn’t going to be able to be accessed through the Walmart Grocery section you can place orders for cleaning items and other miscellaneous items as well.
Final Thoughts – Walmart Grocery Delivery is a Busy Parents Dream Come True
Whether you’re someone who hates taking the kids to the grocery store, someone who wants to cut down on your grocery bill, or someone who just plain out wants someone else to walk through the store and load up their cart for them Walmart Grocery Delivery is a service that I would highly recommend.
I’ve used their pickup services for years now faithfully and have never had an issue and I can’t wait to try out the grocery delivery service this week.
I understand you may be skeptical, but if you’re a busy parent this could give you some time for yourself. You have nothing to lose. Simply enter the code DISCOVER during checkout and have the grocery delivery fee waived to give it a spin.
